Eligibility Requirements
TEAM OREGON courses can be physically and mentally demanding. If you require accommodations related to a disability, please contact us at 800-545-9944 before you register. We may need extra time to make arrangements.
Basic Rider Training (BRT)

Riders younger than 21 must successfully complete BRT to meet state mandatory training requirements for a motorcycle license. Riders 21-40 are required to take either BRT or Intermediate Rider Training (IRT) course to meet requirements. Riders 41 and older are also welcome to attend.
Training motorcycles from 125-250cc are provided. There are a limited number of 125cc scooters available. If a scooter is available, you may reserve it when you register. You may ride your own motorcycle in the course if it is properly registered, insured and passes a safety inspection.
Completion cards are awarded to graduates of BRT. To receive a completion card, you must attend all classroom and on-cycle riding sessions, pass a written knowledge test and pass an on-cycle skills test. DMV waives the knowledge test and on-cycle skills test for graduates who possess a valid completion card. Riders who successfully complete BRT are eligible for insurance discounts under Oregon law.
