Pay Periods and Payday

Pay periods run from day 16 of one month through day 15 of the following month.

Payday will be the last working day of the month the pay period ends. For example, hours worked from July 16 through August 15 will pay on August 30. Pay hours are calculated for days worked, so course hours worked may be split over different pay periods.

The instructor database does not accurately show hours paid for each pay period. If you want to know the exact hours, you can view your earnings statements online via OSU Online Services (see below) after payroll processing is complete.

Pay Stubs

You can view a detailed breakdown of your monthly pay stub on MyOregonState. View this help doc for more information and instructions.

Timecards

Paid hours require a signed timecard. A timecard listing the hours worked will be emailed Wednesday of the following week via DocuSign.

If there are any changes to hours, please provide the date, hour change and the reason for the change to On Call. Any changes to hours are subject to manager approval.

EMPCenter E-mails

Please ignore any e-mails you receive from OSU EMPCenter. They are generated each time the TSU processes your timecard and enters or edits your time in the OSU payroll system. Unfortunately, instructors are not able to “opt out” of the e-mails at this time. Since no action is needed on your part, we recommend you set up a filter to move all EMPCenter e-mails to a junk or spam folder.

Direct Deposit

It takes two pay periods for direct deposit to take effect. After you select direct deposit, your first paycheck will be a paper check mailed to you. After that, paychecks will be deposited into your account.

Use OSU Online Services (see below) to update or change your direct deposit settings.

If you close your checking or savings account, it takes three to five days for the funds to be returned to OSU so a new check can be issued. You must contact the OSU Payroll Office directly at 541-737-3232 to request the check.
