Riding Skills
Many instructors report “Becoming an instructor made me a better rider.” Instructor riding clinics, based on advanced Team Oregon courses, can make you a better rider and instructor. You’ll be better informed, with a greater awareness and refined skill. This lends itself to a renewed enthusiasm to share the value of ongoing training with those who look up to you.
There is no charge to attend these clinics. Instructors use their own motorcycles. Travel expenses are up to the instructor. Registration is limited. Opportunity knocks!
Braking Clinics
Braking Clinics are an excellent opportunity to experience your motorcycle’s handling dynamics at higher speeds. Most of us are familiar with braking and swerving at the relatively low speeds we demonstrate on the range. Most of our riding in the real world, however, happens at much higher speeds.
The motorcycle feels and handles much differently under these conditions. Remaining in control while stopping quickly at those speeds requires greater skill.
Braking Clinics run 2-3 hours. During that time you will receive coaching from the same instructors who teach ART. Your skill and confidence in high-speed braking applications will increase considerably, and you’ll come away with a better understanding of what your own students experience.
Instructors ride their own street motorcycles and need full coverage motorcycle riding gear, including a motorcycle jacket. Due to the higher speeds involved, bring the best gear you have.

Cornering Clinics
Cornering Clinics are held on the same enclosed go-kart courses where our ART classes are held – tight turns, higher speeds and great fun! Even though the clinics are conducted on a kart track, the emphasis is on street riding strategies.
Cornering Clinics eliminate the distractions of the street, and allow you to concentrate on where you look, line selection, bike placement and transitions. Your cornering skill and confidence will improve noticeably, and you’ll come away with a better understanding of what your own students experience. At the end of the clinic you’ll get a two-lap, one-on-one evaluation and debrief from one of our ART instructors.
Cornering Clinics run 2.5 hours. Instructors ride their own street motorcycles and need full coverage motorcycle riding gear, including a motorcycle jacket. Due to the higher speeds involved, you are advised to bring the best gear that you have.

Precision Maneuvering Clinics
Come and knock some serious rust off your skills! Similar to other “ride like a cop” courses, this clinic is based on police motor officer slow-cone drills … with the cones kicked out to dimensions that ordinary mortals can master. Over the course of the day, you will improve coordination of clutch, throttle and steering inputs to keep the motorcycle balanced at low speed while executing tight turns and U-turns with precision and control. “Breeze-outs” throughout the day allow you and your motorcycle to cool off while practicing group riding technique, formation and parking.
PMC runs 4.5 hours. Instructors ride their own street motorcycles. Because of the low-speed nature of this course, the protective gear requirements are the same as for basic and intermediate students, but we recommend you prepare your bike:

Road Riding Tactics
Road Riding Tactics (RRT) replaced Rider Skills Practice (RSP) in 2022. Instructors who’d like to teach RRT should first come get a look and feel for the philosophy, flow and fun. Like RSP, this 4.5-hour course is designed for recent graduates of basic or intermediate training, and endorsed riders who never had training.
Also like RSP, there is no “classroom” in RRT. Riding exercises are paired with range-side chats. Discussions increase awareness of crash causes and strategies to reduce risk. Nine riding exercises (six of them new) build precision and confidence in the tactics riders use every day, such as slow, tight turns, braking in a lean, quick lane changes and negotiating faster curves. These exercises act as a “teaser” for other advanced courses such as PMC, ABC, ART and cornering clinics.
RRT runs 4.5 hours. Instructors ride their own street motorcycles. Protective gear requirements are the same as for basic and intermediate students, though we recommend full gear, including a motorcycle jacket.
